John Adesiji OLORUNMAIYE is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Ilorin. He served as: the Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering from October 1997 to December 2003 and the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology from January 2009 to July 2013 at University of Ilorin. He was a member of the governing body of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) from September 2012 to September 2015 during which period he served as the Chairman of Education and Training Committee. From January 2017 to January 2019 he was the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Crown-Hill University, Eiyenkorin, Kwara State. From 2017 to 2023, he served as the Chairman Washington Accord Application Committee for COREN which led to COREN becoming a provisional signatory of the Washington Accord in June 2023. He served as the Chairman of Engineering Accreditation Committee of COREN from January 2023 to January 2025. He has carried out research in the following areas: Combustion, Gas Dynamics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Development of Engineering Materials and Engineering Education.

B. Sc. (First Class Honours),Mechanical Engineering, 1979, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.
