Jacob Olayiwola AWEDA, is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ilorin. He has over three decades of university teaching experience coupled with research and administrative duties.

He has served as Head of Departments, of Materials and Metallurgy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering at different times. Currently, he is Director, Unilorin Renewable Energy Centre (UREC) providing alternative solutions to the energy requirements of the University.

He has to his credit over sixty publications in reputable journals, edited conference proceedings and chapters in books. He has successfully supervised over 10 Masters and 3 Ph.D. theses. He is a member of many professional bodies including, Nigerian Society of Engineers, (MNSE), Fellow, Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, (FNIMechE), Member, International Association of Engineers, (MIAE) and registered Engineer with COREN. Professor Aweda is a certified teacher who is registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, (TRN).
