About Us

Undergraduate Programme : B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering

Postgraduate studies: The department runs M.Eng and PhD programmes at postgraduate level.

Departmental library: The departmental has a small Library that can accommodate 25 students at a time. It has both physical and virtual means of accessing books and other learning materials. Direct access to codes to subscribed repositories by the University are also made available to students.

Student Work: These are assignments, classwork, Engineering workshop activities, Laboratory practical, report writing and presentations, projects and study visits to relevant industries/locations.

Entrepreneurship and innovations: the department has a strong link to the Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre (TEC) of the University. This centre exposes students to various practical and innovative entrepreneurship skills.

Students’ Research: Students of the department conduct research in the following areas: Thermofluid, Design, Production and Energy. They are also thoroughly exposed to the operation and maintenance of industrial and laboratory equipment.

The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE), University of Ilorin Chapter. NIMechE secretariat is located at block 7, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ilorin, Ilorin.
